Should you buy Pioneer car audio speakers? Are they worth it…

Looking for some Pioneer speakers to go in your car audio system? Here is my insight and review into the Pioneer A series car audio full range 6×9 speakers. I show the tsa6965r 3 way 6x9s, These are really typical of most pioneer speakers they make these days.

Gotta be honest. I knew going in with Pioneers that w my budget at the time they were the most viable option. And I was upgrading stock 4″ speakers so I was hoping the bigger size would make better sound…

WRONG. I am running God damn Polk crossovers from a 600w amp and weather sealed the speakers to retain sound… Bunch of hard work just to remove them. They don’t sound that good…

My next set of 6x9s will be nicer now that I can afford that.

Pioneer left me unimpressed. I’m not saying you can’t achieve an ok level of sound but you are correct the distortion in the lower frequency gets pretty damn irritating.

They cost me $50 so anyone here clammering that you can achieve truly excellent sound at the pioneer price range is delusional, have your ears checked.

Midnight Mechanic says:

Altec Lansing started making some cheap stuff too, like a pair of laptop external speakers that plug into USB. I took those things back soon as I played 3 seconds worth of sound, got the Creative Gigaworks T20 instead. Much better investment, from a company that’s not that well known for making speakers, but sound cards instead.

Tom Garcia says:

I’ve always used pioneer head units, as far as their speakers go, you could do better for the price in terms of sound quality and materials, but if you can get them for a low price then they’ll do the job.

Austins Vids says:

Dumbass your just stupid they are good

Jose Garcia says:

na i dont beleive this guy..pioneer is great and its affordable audio components. i own a pair of pioneer 6x9s and a pair of 6.5 inch and they sound great..

intlj says:

pioneer speakers are good if you’re in Wal-Mart and toilet paper is on sale and you have a few bucks to blow so you stop by the car audio section! I wouldn’t put pioneer’s in my wheel barrow

SalemMillion says:

I’m looking for a good 4×6 front speakers for my 89 chevy, what do you recommend ?

SteelFlexInc says:

LMAO of course this guy disabled the likes/dislikes count on this video. Their A series does not sound anywhere near as bad as he’s making them out to be

47 RONIN says:

fosgate alpine kenwood bose sony n kicker. not a fan of pioneer. their headunits, i dont like the way they r laid out (the user interface) the ober r far better than pioneer

worm wood says:

you do realise that very high end pro audio and hifi equipment is made out of paper? also the diaphragm is the cone and the cone some argument has been made that it should be light as then the magnet has less weight to battle with… this another thing that PA has done for years for more response on mid drivers

I actually done know anything about these speakers the magnet gives it away to me that it isnt very powerful however please get your fact right before slating something you just made yourself look biased

also i know we are not talking about PA but if you went to a PA show or a DJ shop even and said the speakers were rubbish because they are paper you would be laughed at.

Jeff Dumas says:

If they are crap, then why do you even sell them?

DarkstarDarth says:

Last time I looked, our universe is made in China.

George David says:

6×9? Dude you lost my respect.. and Pioneer sucks .. they make great HU (I own them) amps, etc.. but no speakers..

Alan Deacon says:

Don’t believe this Clown

Loomis says:

This guy bitches too much

Kriss Zet89 says:

I have these speakers and they sound Great but they are clipping when i use 22w amplifier. My guesses are that it’s the amplifier fault because it tries to deliver the power that it can’t deliver. And btw i soldered the amplifier myself so there might be some issues. I am thinking, should i buy 100w rms aplifier or 2 channel 60w rms amplifier?

Kamen Kent says:

Horrible review, I love the pioneers. Great upgrade for my car for a great price! This guy is super biased. Look for a better review.

Kaleb Delong says:

pioneer has great sounding speakers for the price my whole family uses them

avneet911 says:

+Lessco Electronics Mostly contradicting comments against yourself! Pioneer is an excellent value for money!

Jared Dotson says:

some people are just looking for the same performance they are getting out of their cheap stock paper speakers, or something that sounds good with the power they got. at 15 watts rms, I think paper sounds better than polypropylene. just did a demo with the pioneer TS-A650R at best buy, at 15 watts it sounded as good as the JBL 6.5s.

R1S8K says:

Well, A series scored the best speakers on http://www.toptenreviews.com. They scored very good points at low freq.

FSXgta says:

You are just testing one type. I see this is bad but pioneer have some good stuff. Your title suggests the entire Pioneer lineup, thats how i percived it.
