can’t go wrong with ATC!

MrVoayer says:

Even though I prefer musicality over resolution I highly respect ATC speakers ! No, they are not overly analytical, they are not sharp nor brittle. It is just that I prefer less detail and more warmth.

Hi there! I’m thinking about buying te SCM40. The worry I have is that they are not crispy/extended in the high frequency enough. Technical pure studio music speakers can sound boring and flat, in my opinion of course. A brand like Sonus Faber is too polite for me, I’m more a Focal guy. Is the SCM40 a good option for me?

GnL 7 says:

I’ve owned a few bits of ATC Kit. The latest versions of their scm11 and scm19 powered by their P1 Power Amp.
These Active 40’s are on the Must Own at some point.
I’m very interested in doing an A/B with this Prism DAC and my Benchmark DAC2 HGC.

Full Ranger says:

It’s nice to hear a small loudspeaker performing so decently (and rather more than that). ATC is very well renouned and experienced, basically evolving the same drivers and philosophy since establishment. I disaggree with the many ways of course but, well, they may know better (their 3 inch midrange is really too good to exclude from the design).

moonlight says:

well controlled resonances for a rectangle shaped speakers

Arthur Watts says:

So much for the idea that pro audio gear has no place in the home listening environment, eh wot ?
