JBL L100 Classic Speakers: http://bit.ly/2BC0Soj

As many of you may know, JBL was the speaker of choice at Woodstock in 1969. That same year, they introduced the original model L100 which went on to sell over 125,000 pairs in the 70s.

The famous L100 will be celebrating its 50th birthday this year and to honor it, JBL has introduced the L100 Classic. We need to say its a total redo and really nothing like the original except for the look

In the 70s, the JBL L100s epitomized rock and roll at the time. With its outrageous blue or orange foam sculpted grills they had that mean and rebellious look. In the L100 Classic, JBL brought back the orange and blue grills to show off that rock and roll flair, but do have a charcoal grey version if you want a more subtle look.

The beautiful walnut cabinet is quite large and while you may be able to find a bookshelf to put these speakers on, they have optional floor stands that create a stunning look.

The technology featured in this speaker comes from years of experience in providing sound for some of the most important events around the world.

The 12 inch woofer is coated with JBL’s famous aqua plus coating to improve damping. The huge magnet structure of this drivers enables it to punch out deep bass, making it unmatched in its category.

The 105-A midrange driver is polymer coated and has a larger structure than some entry level woofers. The pure pulp midrange driver has a cast basket with a voice coil winding capable of handling lots of power.

The 1 inch dome tweeter sits on a waveguide designed for wide and accurate dispersion and on the front panel are controls to adjust levels of the tweeter and midrange drivers .

JBL uses extensive bracing inside the walnut covered MDF cabinet which you can tell through simply tapping your knuckles on the side of the speaker cabinet.

Another area of speaker design that has drastically changed over the last few years is the port. The new port design on this speaker is tapered which helps reduce air noise.

In terms of performance, the L100 Classic performs incredibly well. This speaker knocks the ball out of the park when it comes to recreating that live experience at home. Just like the original L100, these will have you cranking up the volume and leave you smiling from ear-to-ear.

sudd says:

why not focus on sound quality and make it a sealed box? or is this speaker very cheap and you expect bad sound quality?

William Strickland says:
